Elle rassemble les productions de Graziano Arici, mais regroupe aussi d'autres archives photographiques. C’est la plus grande archive privée européenne de portraits d’artistes ; issue de la production d’un photographe professionnel, elle se transforme peu à peu en un lieu hybride, et dont le sens, l’utilisation et la réception sont changés par ce qu’il se trouve recevoir. Cette archive est, dès le départ, conçue comme une forme-conservatoire, destinée à représenter un temps ; elle est un témoignage porté par un auteur sur son époque. Par l’acquisition de fractions d’archives photographiques, la préservation des images, et par ses créations, le photographe se fait l’héritier d’un domaine artistique, mais aussi son passeur. The Graziano Arici Archive represents, in more than one million two hundred thousand images, some aspects of the artistic culture of the twentieth and twenty-first century. This archive combines Graziano Arici’s photographs, and other photographic archives. It is the largest private European archive of artists' portraits. Combining the production of a professional photographer with unexpected pictures, it’s an hybrid location, whose meaning, use and reception are also gradually changed by what it contains. This archive is, from the beginning, conceived as a time-capsule, a testimony.
