https://www.ouvroir.fr/strathese/index.php?id=506 Bénéficier d’une corporéité augmentée par les sciences et techniques est l’un des principaux horizons d’attentes du transhumanisme. À défaut de pouvoir modifier ses capacités et son apparence, l’iconographie du mouvement techno-politique expose des versions idéalisées de ces corps augmentés. Dans une perspective sociologique, cet article propose de questionner, au prisme du genre, la façon dont les transhumanistes appréhendent la notion de corps augmenté. Il s’agira d’abord de démontrer que le corps n’a, in fine, pas vocation à disparaître. Ensuite, nous montrerons qu’en dépit d’une idéologie prônant le dépassement des limites biologiques et celle de la binarité du genre, les représentations graphiques et les discours montrent au contraire des corps dont les fonctions sont socialement genrées. Nous analyserons donc pourquoi l’amélioration des corps masculins repose essentiellement sur la mécanisation du corps, alors que la problématique d’amélioration des corps féminins, principalement représentés sous la forme d’un robot anthropomorphe hyper-sexualisé, concerne l’humanisation de la technique par l’introduction d’une conscience. The aim of this article is to analyze how transhumanists envision enhanced bodies through a gender perspective. One of their expectations is based on the possibility of having a body enhanced by science and technology. Waiting for enhancing its capabilities and appearance, the imaginaries takes over and design idealized enhanced bodies. From a sociological perspective, I propose a systemic analysis of the iconography and representations of the enhanced bodies in transhumanism. We will first show how the body is not bound to disappear. Next, we will show that even if the transhumanist ideology preaches the surpassing of biological limits and gender binarism, pictures and speeches show bodies whose social functions differs according to gender. We will analyze why male enhanced bodies are essentially based on the mechanization of the human, while the issue of female enhanced bodies, mainly represented in an anthropomorphic hyper-sexualized robot, deals with the humanization of technique through the introduction of consciousness and artificial intelligence.
