Nous nous intéressons plus particulièrement aux situations de maltraitances des enfants inscrits dans des familles où ces situations se sont répétées de génération en génération. Nous avons réalisé une étude bibliographique et une série d’entretiens semi-directifs avec trois familles accueillies par l’Institut Colombien de bien-être familial (ICBF) de la ville de Salamina et cinq professionnels de ce même institut. De cette analyse, il ressort que certains éléments de la représentation du père depuis la formation historique de la Colombie se perpétuent encore aujourd’hui, dont notamment l’image d’un père autoritaire, voire terrorisant, et non digne de confiance. Nous partageons nos réflexions et questions concernant la relation entre les fonctions et caractéristiques attribuées au père depuis l’époque de la colonisation et la représentation du père qui se dégage de nos entretiens. This article is the result of a first part of our doctoral research work on child abuse and transmission of the paternal function. We are particularly interested in cases of abuse of children in families where these situations are recurrent from generation to generation. We carried out a literature review and a series of semi-structured interviews with three families hosted by the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF) of Salamina city and five professionals of the same institute. From this analysis, we found out that some elements of the social representation of the father were still prevalent today, including an authoritative figure, inspiring terror, and not worth of trust. We share our thoughts and questions about the relationship between the functions and characteristics attributed to the father from the time of colonization and the representation of the father that emerges from our interviews.
