Elle propose quatre sentiers pour explorer l’incidence des ailleurs dans le développement et même l’épanouissement humain : l’ailleurs qui fait une histoire, l’ailleurs qui permet de se trouver après s’être perdu, l’ailleurs d’une autre connaissance, l’ailleurs comme expérience de pensée. This contribution attempts to understand how elsewhere, although indeterminate when it is simply announced as such, represents an indispensable horizon for the development of free thought, i.e., thought capable of breaking free from itself and its habits. La réflexion porte sur l’incertitude existentielle de l’ici et de l’ailleurs. Ayant eu l’occasion de rencontrer le poète Yves Bonnefoy, il m’est apparu que sa thèse de la « terre seconde » offre une voie de résistance au risque majeur de sombrer dans une pratique routinière du langage enfermée dans les abstractions notionnelles. Rêver son existence « ailleurs » est également l’impasse dont la poésie doit se défier. L’exploration poétique est une errance assumée d’un ici à un autre ici. This contribution takes up a questioning of the phrase “the thought of elsewhere”. The reflection concerns the existential uncertainty of the here and the elsewhere. Having had the opportunity to meet the poet Yves Bonnefoy, it occurred to me that his thesis of the “second land” offers a path of resistance to the major risk of sinking into a routine practice of language locked in notional abstractions. To dream one's existence “elsewhere” is also the impasse that poetry must defy.
