Après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, leur utilisation (y compris celle de l’allemand standard) a été fortement réprimée et la francisation résolument poursuivie. Depuis quelques décennies maintenant, des efforts ont été faits pour élever les dialectes de la Moselle-Est au statut de langue indépendante afin de marquer une distance par rapport à la langue allemande, de permettre leur identification et de pouvoir les réutiliser. Le paysage linguistique donne une bonne indication de la manière dont coexistent les différents groupes linguistiques et une indication sur le statut de leurs langues. Dans le cadre d’une analyse qualitative, les contextes d’apparition, les fonctions et les auteurs des éléments linguistiques visibles dans l’espace public en allemand standard et dialectal seront discutés pour la Moselle-Est. Il s’avère qu’ils constituent des exceptions notables, distribuées de manière significative. L’allemand (standard) apparaît dans les inscriptions historiques ainsi que dans le domaine des relations internationales, et est donc implicitement exogénéisé. En revanche, on trouve le dialecte (appelé « platt ») dans des contextes ayant des références locales et portant sur des aspects identitaires. Historically, the germanic varieties of East-Moselle (former region of Lorraine) are a part of the dialectal continuum of German. After the Second World War their use (as well as Standard German) was heavily suppressed and frenchification was furthered resolutely. For some decades now efforts have been made to elevate the East-Moselle’s dialects to an independent language, in order to achieve a distance from the German language and to enable the identification with and thus reuse of the dialects. The linguistic landscape gives a good indication (of the kind) of coexistence of different language groups and the status of the languages. In a qualitative analysis, the contexts of occurrence, functions and authors of the German (standard) and fixed dialectal linguistic signs in the visible public space will be discussed for East-Moselle. It turns out that they are notable and characteristically distributed exceptions. (Standard) German appears in historical inscriptions as well as in the field of French international relations and is thus implicitly exogenized. In contrast, Platt is found in contexts with local references and identificational aspects. Historisch gesehen sind die germanischen Varietäten der Ost-Mosel (ehemalige Region Lothringen) Teil des dialektalen Kontinuums des Deutschen. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde ihr Gebrauch (einschließlich des Standarddeutschen) stark unterdrückt und die Französisierung entschlossen vorangetrieben. Seit einigen Jahrzehnten gibt es Bestrebungen, die Dialekte der Ost-Mosel zu einer eigenständigen Sprache zu erheben, um eine Distanz zur deutschen Sprache herzustellen, so die Identifikation mit den Dialekten und damit deren Wiederverwendung zu ermöglichen. Die Linguistic Landscape liefert gute Hinweise auf die (Art der) Koexistenz verschiedener Sprachgruppen und den Status ihrer Sprachen. In einer qualitativen Analyse werden die Vorkommenskontexte, Funktionen und Autoren der (standard-) deutschen und dialektalen ortsfesten Sprachzeichen im sichtbaren öffentlichen Raum für die Ost-Mosel diskutiert. Es zeigt sich, dass es sich dabei um bemerkenswerte und charakteristisch verteilte Ausnahmen handelt. (Standard-) Deutsch taucht sowohl in historischen Inschriften als auch im Bereich der französischen internationalen Beziehungen auf und wird damit implizit exogenisiert.
